ABOUT

Door een combinatie van monumentaliteit en humor probeer ik contact te leggen met de vermoeiden en uitgeputten: mensen die hun plek in de samenleving niet lijken te vinden of tijdelijk buiten de lijnen van het 'normale' zijn beland.

Met een achtergrond in zowel beeldende kunst als film probeer ik een verhalend element in mijn werk te verwerken. Ik streef ernaar mijn sculpturen een eigen karakter en temperament mee te geven, in de hoop dat ze zo de toeschouwer kunnen aanspreken.

Through a mix of a monumentality style and humor, I try to reach out to the tired and exhausted, people who never seem to find their place in society or are temporarily stranded outside the branches of what is considered ‘normal’.

Studied both in the arts and film, I attempt to add a form of storytelling in my work.

I try to provide my sculptures with a certain character, each with their own temperament. This way I hope they can speak to the beholder.
